Fine. The AE was the most Mary Poppins model Maxima ever; (meaning, "practically perfect in every way".)

I will forever be incomplete until I own one. Who needs 6th gear anyway?

who needs LSD anyway, right Roch?

Its all love man

the 5spds gear ratios are pretty good - going through the traps in 3rd FTW!

With all the snow I had to tackle this morning, that would be me... I need it, even with good snow tires. Yeah, snow.

Have I mentioned the snow?

And here comes HotshotVQ35, in 3... 2... 1...

I hear ya on the snow, sometimes my VLSD is the only thing that pulls me up some hills.

That IS impressive, (Free the Whales). Being used to my 6MT, I can't imagine being in 3rd gear at the end of a WOT 1/4 mile. Yikes!

Then again, if the drag strip were my hobby, I wouldn't take that on in a FWD, 4-door sedan. God knows I love my Maxima, but I think there are better suited rides for that purpose. That's just me.

And now I brace myself for what is about to come...

I have a question, why does it seem that at least half the links people post to different threads/posts either don't exist or lead you somewhere else?

This is especially an issue in the FAQ's thread.

You're right, but the nice 3rd gear + raised rev limiter lets me hold 3rd till ~110mph which is fantastic for highway "passing"

110 mph passing speed... that sounds about right.

And really, I'm only saying that to tip over into 1600 posts. Which interestingly enough, has me looking right at your rear bumper, Moncef.

Metaphorically speaking, of course.

Actually, like most of the Northeast, last week's warm spell melted everything. But this morning I woke up to a couple inches. (Um, Moncef, that's your cue to say something clever. C'mon, you know you want to.)

It's been a weird day of snow squalls. This is bigger than fluffy lake-effect snow off Ontario.

That's the plan, Moncef. My buddy and I are bringing the wives, driving downstate on Friday. Saturday the girls will go downtown to NYC for some shopping, while we wander around Maxus.

Look for the nondescript suburban Dad with the NWP t-shirt. What, you don't have a NWP t-shirt?!

Coolness. I want to see pictures.

Horsepower gains... about as much as a test pipe. Hmm, where is Scottwax anyway?

Sounds good.

Nah but I've got a Maxima.org hoodie and a Maxima.org polo. Depending on if I buy Aaron's torque link I'll get the T-shirt.

But I'll rep the .Org if that doesn't work out

Hmm...I have one of those, so we'll see what happens.

That torque link connector is SO on my list. (Seriously, I have a list.)

In fact, the torque link is scheduled for June. Do you know if Aaron will be selling them at Maxus again? I mean, $30 savings is $30 savings, and if I'm not buying it until June anyway...

I know he's not sponsoring this year, but I wonder if he'll be selling product there anyway? Maybe I should ask.

Yeah - I have one of those too. I need to build my 3.5" intake and ported TB and buy cams too. I may not even be done by Maxus.

I have no idea, $30 is $30, just shoot him a PM or something maybe even a Pre-Maxus GD could be in order here.

I'm in no rush. (Winter) Posted the question in his group deals thread just now. We'll see.

What's the very last item in your list, Moncef? Mine is G37S 6MT. With Mustang GT 5.0 as a mid-life-crisis alternate.

the very last item on my list would probably be a really good dyno tune...

I was planning on buying a G37S after graduating college - Now I'd much rather have a 370Z.

But really, I want to go to Canada and get an R33 Skyline GTS-t, put GTR bumpers on it and then hook up a PowerFC and see how much trouble I can get into...and out of.

You might think otherwise after driving one, although I can only speak from my values. On the upside, the car is drop-dead sexy, and handles like it's on rails. There's no denying that. And that rev-balancing downshift 6MT is an amazing piece of technology. It was a whole lot of fun slamming down into 3rd hard, and having a perfect rev-match waiting for you in that split second. Amazing stuff.

However, the car is insanely claustrophobic, with zero visibility, a washboard suspension, and side bolstering in the seats that jab at your thighs like a vise. (Not in a good way, mind you.) And you know, it just didn't "feel" fast. It's obviously plenty quick, but it just doesn't feel that way.

Anyway, you make your own decisions, but there's a quick-hit feedback on my 370Z test drive.

Thanks for the insight, I'll have to check it out. The G is way sexy too, but the 1/4 mile times are disappointing. I sat in a few 370Zs but never drove one.

My dad said the same thing about an '07 350Z regarding how claustrophobic it is and I told him to "stop hatin"

I am going to order the "4DSC", but debating should I get the maxima.org sticker. But then I don't know which one will go top when I stick them to the window. Sometime I wish 5th gen has a wider quarter window.

Sometimes "feel fast" is a far more rewarding experience than actual clock times. Cars like the Mini Cooper S, and any VW sporting the 2.0T... they "feel fast", even though your Maxima will (should) handily best them.

When I drove the G37S 6MT Coupe, it was refined and confident, and it also felt fast. When I drove the Ford Taurus SHO, it was fat and boat-y and felt like a slug. And yet that SHO is supposed to be a beast. Go figure.

Moncef, unless 1/4 mile times are a huge priority, perception is what matters.

Oh, and listen to your Dad. Dad's are always right.

Haha, my dads been right about everything so far!

And I understand what you mean with the differences between "feeling" and reality. Quarter mile isn't that important but between the new Z and the new G, it really shows how much porkier the G is since its the same motor.

A new car would be a hard decision to make but hopefully I will be able to be in that position after I graduate

Put the 4DSC up in the window, as for the Maxima.org put that one way down along the side skirt.

I put my Toronto site sticker down along there and it worked out pretty good in my opinion.

You're lucky to have that HLSD setup in this weather. Nasty, dangerous snow storm late afternoon today. Total white-out on the highway, and my 20 minute commute took over an hour.
