Trim Around Shifter...AC Vents..Arm Rests Gooey and Soft

I have a 2000 SE Maxima and the trim around the buttons on all the door rests, shifter area, around ac controls are gooey like, you can take your finger nail and just gouge a ridge in it ....its a tad sticky like to the touch ...I bought maxima used long while back and it was this way when I got it....has anyone had this problem or was there a recall for it ?

I also bought mine used and I have that issue only on the trim around the audio controls. I have absolutely no clue about the reason for that. I figured at some point someone tried to clean that with some kind of solvent....
