2000 auto track times!

I finally made it the track to get my 1/4 mile times. All I can say is that I am very happy with the times I got. I have a 2000 Fed spec automatic gxe. I have around 36,000 miles and I use mobil-1 fully synthetic. I have no performance mods. I have progressive 1.7in lowering springs which help because the rear end no longer drops when I take off.

My best time was a 15.476
My worst time was a 15.635

all times are: 15.476, 15.513 ,15.513, 15.546, 15.547, 15.635

All runs I power braked and manually shifted. the 1 run letting the computer shift I got a 15.513.

Here are all the time slips, I am car #10.

The time slipps dont show 0-60. The Gulfport dragway dosent test for 0-60. just reaction time, short time, trap speed and 1/4 mile.

what is short time anyway?

Great times!

Tracks never tell your 0-60. I think people are mixing up the 60ft time for a 0-60 time.

Thank You Thank You!!! Im gonna go again next wednesday and I will try all variables; no torque braking vs torque braking, manually shifting vs letting computer shift and also w/ od on and od off. Ive came to the conclusion that every Maxima will yield different results. Recently I read a post that the track times were worse when manually shifting. My best time of 15.476 was with torque braking and manually shifting w/ a bit under a 1/4 tank of gas w/ spare and jack removed. In all honesty does anyone think I would stand a chance of breaking into the 14s when I get a cold air, cattback, Y-pipe, and underdrive pulley?? or would that be asking for too much??

It wouldn't be asking too much. I have all of those mods on my 5th gen auto and want to see what kind of numbers it can do with those mods....

You guys need to remember that he has the most basic model of a maxima...15" wheels and nothing on it. So that's why he could have comed with those great numbers. take a fully loaded SE and you'll get like around high 15's low 16's

That SOUNDS good but I have the factory 16s. They came w/ the comfort and convienience package. other than that though your right I have the stripped gxe. no leather, no sunroof, only 1 power seat etc. You are correct the gxe does weigh the least.

i have a base SE with NO options not even 1 power seat, but i have a 5spd. all i have is a intake and catback my best time was a 14.98. you should be able to break 14's with all those mods listed.
