UPDATE:

Last night my brother offered to help me with the adjustment and we went to a dark parking lot with a wall where we can do the aiming. It did take a long time, especially since it took us a while to figure out they do adjust vertically and laterally.

When we finally got it right, the lighting quality is indeed impressive. Still have a little bit of scatter, but it is now very minimal and the beam projection is very good. The projectos tremendously reduce the glare factor, comapred to my brother's retrofitted stock housings. Can't wait 'till tomorrow when shop fixes low beams turning off when high beams activated. I think that will leave me a very happy camper with the light output.

Here's a pics of the light scatter on the projector-style ebays, for those who wanted to see it:

IMHO, not bad for a modest upgrade on a budget from hazy stocks, but does leave a lot to be desired.. I'm in the process of upgrading to G37 projectors. However, it has turned out to be a very expensive endeavor.

I have the ebay halo lights without the projectors and would like to put HID lights, but I have no idea where to put the ballast. Do I put the ballast inside the housing of the light?

^Definitely not. You can mount them anywhere near the headlight (as long as its secure).

On the one hand I'd tell you that you shouldn't do it, it'll be brighter but not the good kind of 'bright'. On the other hand...I did the same exact thing some years back.

I guess it's almost like a Rite of Passage. Hell, if it weren't for doing those I would've never got my oem lights retrofitted (and I was one of the first)

Both headlights of mine were replaced, but the right one looks slightly different from the left, I'm guessing one might be OEM, and the other aftermarket. That being said, the left one that looks almost aftermarket-ish hasn't glazed over yet, and the right one looks slightly hazy. They were replaced in Septemember of last year.

That streaky output would drive me crazy. Good idea to upgrade to the g37s.

Does anyone have this installed on their 2000-2001 Maxima? If so, Is it a perfect plug and play fit or did you have to do any retrofitting / cutting with the wiring etc. I'd like to see some pictures before I buy. Thanks! '

I bought these few weeks back. I don't think it is plug and play. I cound;t install them correctly in my car. The bottom plastic bracket isn't matching correctly...so either the design change or I'm missing something...
If you take the plastic bottom bracket, it looks like it's going to install right, but then it's not truly plug and play like it was advertised..

They looks so good....but considering how I do not know how much about anything with cars...it would be impossible to install them huh?

Not really. It has the high and low beam bulbs wired into one harness that you simply plug into your factory harness (just like your stock lights). There are small wires for wiring the angel rings and another small harness for plugging in your turn signals (also plugs directly into your turn signal harness).

You should try it.

I swear I wish I could remember if I took mine tabs out or not. I'd definitely give it a try if i were you b/c those lights are a little bigger than oem 00-01's and it would probably still be snug.

Did your ebay projector's go into the plastic tabs w/o incident?

I wouldn't imagine plug and play to be exact but anything on ebay I'd gather as a gamble on that one lol.

Well, after 1 hour trying to take the tabs out without damaging, I finally busted both of them apart, now both headlights fit perfect. I'm going to order a few from delearship tomorrow since I'm not planning to use these quads I'm doing.
