i have emailed the seller once before and he clearly stated they are only got up to a 1.5 inch drop so if you go more of a drop than that then its your own fault for now reviewing and asking questions before buying, i got a set of springs im putting on my car that claim to be a 1.6 drop all around and the kid i got them from measured before the broke in and after and the total drop comes to about 1.85 so i dont think im gonna get these, although im still debating it in my head but you get what you pay for remember that....theres also a listing on ebay if you search for shocks or struts they come up at 265 with free shipping and are called silverstars... im waiting for someone on the org to buy a set and either complain about them or compliment them based on the performance...why dont you give them a shot and let us know lol

Did you cut your bumpstops? If not, that could have prematurely created the failure. Just saying...

...and yes I am a advocate of cutting bumpstops. I would never lower a car w/o cutting bumpstops...

no i didnt cut them i have never cut them before and have never had a problem, im thinking it was just a defective strut from the start and slowly got worse with use

Progress Technology recommends you cut the bump stops with their springs so I did....could this be why my Staggs are still ok

I ended up getting kyb gt2 struts, mounts and boots for my car. Teh old stock struts were 100% trashed. There was nothing left in them. My car rides and drives 100% better. Amazing what struts can do. I do have to seal my CV boot on the right side as when pulling the old struts off it put a gash in the boot. Other than that it went well. My total for everything was $500 adn I installed them so it wasnt too bad.

Just a little update, I saw this thread a while back and decided to try them, ordered all 4 and put in the 2 front ones in May.
The car is bone stock including the springs.
The're both blown as of a few days ago, the passenger side is worse than the drivers side.
So they lasted all of 4 months/15k km.
The're garbage as far as I'm concerned. It's a good thing the're 'sold out'

I don't even have a maxima anymore but I was really considering the STAGG struts for the front end of my e36... now I'm a little uncertain... I'm going to contact JDMwerks to see if I can get an honest answer about the failure rate of these....

Any objective feedback on these would be great... I've PM'd a couple of people who have had issues with these but other than that I have not seen complaints about them anywhere... Thanks!

Noob here...just trying to do my homework before I jump on these. The price is right for sure. Was thinking of pairing these with Megan springs for a budget-minded set up. So no one else here has tried these shocks/struts?

Staggs Struts

I have just ordered these struts and I haven't put them on my 04 Max yet. I could pass up the deal. I dont even need struts yet, but i want to replace the stock ones eventually. i live in new orleans and these must be the worst roads in the u.s. Living here and driving on the roads you should be off roading with all the roads that are horrible. I'll post the results on how the car rides and the durability of these struts once they are mounted on. If anyone knows any good mechanics here in new orleans let me know!

First post here guys (I think). Coming over from Bimmerforums too. Sold my 95 E36 and bought an 02 I35. I put Staggs on the front of my e36 (all stock) about 2.5 years ago, put about 40K on them without any trouble.

I have an '02 I35 Sport and am looking to save some cash.. I might make the jump and go for these struts once in get a chance. Thank you for clarifying that you ran them on your other car for quite a while and on stock springs. I hope there are a few more success stories to help sway anyone that's second guessing these struts.. myself included.

I've got an 01 Maxima that's all stock and am looking for a cheap alternative to replacing struts all around. I came across a set with springs for $309 plus shipping. I will likely buy them and try to put my review on here for after installation and maybe a few months down the road.

I've owned many different vehicles (stock and modded) so hopefully I'll be able to offer another somewhat credible review.

Some cars I've owned: 04 350Z, 04 RSX Type S, 88 CRX, 01 EP3 Civic Hatch (SI), 98 Civic EX, 93 Silverado, 91 Talon and a few daily drivers

Some strut/spring brands I've used: Tokico Blues Illuminas and OEM, Eibach Sportline and Pro Kit, Megan Racing, Stillen, Tanabe and a few ebay knock offs.

...wish me luck!

An update:

I received an email from UPS saying they received an order to void my shipment today, 2-27-12 from the seller "JDMWERKS". My bank statement showed I payed them on 2-20-12 so I emailed them to see what the status of my order is. Perhaps they didn't have what they sold? We will see...anyway, no strut/springs here in the winterland of St Paul, MN.

So I was able to finish them yesterday...only after seeing the pics on my computer did I realize I should've used something other than my phone...anyhow, here they are.

Had no major issues with the install. One of the rf side ABS line mounts was a little stretch, so it was pretty hard to slide into the groove. Otherwise, again no real concerns or issues with the install.

Solid road test to come =)

Very curious about your impressions on the struts. Wish someone could do a comparison using standard ride height.
