Flex/Y-pipe...UGHH

So i looked under my car so that i can start spraying down the bolts to put my cat-back on, and i noticed my flex/y-pipe is on its way out. Now i looked online and i see that the one from nissan is crazy expensive so my thing is should i just go with a cattman or warpspeed. I'm pretty positive i am going to but what should i expect as far as power gains, i have a 00 Cali spec. Are there any cats on the y? I mean if there are then i know there should be some type of gains. I would love to just get complete headers but my broke azz cant afford all that lol...idk just looking for a general idea from you fellow orgers...Thanks in advance!!!!

Funny...just got my car inspected and they told that the braided part was pretty well shot, told me they'd weld in a piece for $225. I'd rather put the money towards an aftermarket one.

If you had the chance to change the Y pipe or adding headers with a new Y pipe, would you?

Recently I came accross a Y pipe from Warpspeed and found another that comes with the headers for the same price. I'm just wondering if it will be worth replacing the exhuast manifold too. Any thoughts.

The only downside to changing the manifolds also is actually doing it. Its pretty tight in there...

gains with a y on the 00-01 are significant because you end up losing 2 precats

Thank you. Thats what i thought but i wasnt too sure. How is the fitment of the Cattman?? And what are the issues with the Warpspeed fitment?? Anyone have any insight on this?

Well, there's also the manifold cost, which is significant for the Cattman's (not bashing the vendor, price or product).

Well I have a 96 with a WSP Y-Pipe and it left some noise. The pipe itself kind of moved the rest of my exhaust to the left (passengers side) a little bit so now my muffler rattles a bit when stopped in drive. I would imagine its mostly the same for the 5th gen

SMOG and emission

dont forget that you have lots of O2 sensors and cal spec y-pipe they finally put the spots for all the sensors. since there is almost no restriction it is possible that you might get the catalyst inefficiency bank 1 and 2, which will turn on the check engine light. when you go and smog the car the light will not let you pass the visual inspection for the smog test. but if you have someone on your side you should have no problem.

also you could blank out those sensors with a resistor kit so it appears to the car that it is in a perfect condition.
