Is there anyone who has swapped their instrument panel in their maxima with the one from an i30. Im looking to put in an 01 i30 panel in my dash and want to know if the connectors are similar. If you have done this swap please post pics.

 

Any thoughts at all?

Thanks for the reply guys I had seen that one but im thinking the i30 gauge would be easier since everything is in the same location as the maxima gauge. Im going to just go ahead and try it when I find a cluster.

Will do. Since the panel is digital is the mileage stored in the ecu or on the panel itself? The shape seems to be the same and the mounting tabs are in the same place the connectors are the only question but i'll find out eventually.

In the process of trying to get the cluster hopefully I get it and I'll be the guinea pig for those that might be interested.

 

Panel has been ordered just waiting for It to be shipped. I got it for $9.95 + $15 for shipping it's a cheap mod to try for that price.

 

THe panel came today im going to look into it tomorrow just have to find a write up to remove the old one.

 

I found the write up in the fourth gen forums I will definitely try to tackle this tomorrow. The guage looks sportier than the gle stock cluster which i loved (more than the se cluster) until I saw the the cluster in my cousins 01 i30 he just got 2 weeks ago that is the reason for this swap. I am also doing a 3.5 front end conversion and some other things.

Well i swapped it in but the backlight is not working all the other instrument lights work im hoping the bulb is just the problem. hopefully i could get my cousin to help me out.

 

*bump* Hey i am very interested in if you got this to work?!! I would really like to put a set of i30 gauges in my 01 5spd se!!
