Does anyone have any information on the RS5F51A transmission? Is it a manual or automatic? Is it a limited slip transmission or non-limited slip transmisison?

^ To clarify, it's the open 5MT used in both the QR25 and VQ35 Altima. If you found one without a reference to the donor vehicle, you'll want to contact the seller to confirm which engine it bolts up to, as they have the same PN. Similarly the helical LSD 6MT from your Maxima, which is RS6F51H (and the one you're probably looking for), shares the same PN with the Sentra SE-R Spec-V (QR25).

On a side note, reading some of these transmission codes is often simple. For the ones relevant to us, the 3rd character refers to the number of forward gears, the 4th character refers to the transmission layout (FWD or RWD, and if the last character is a H or V, then it refers to a helical or viscous limited-slip differential, otherwise it is a revision denominator. Many other ones are coded differently, though.

It is a 5-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. These were put in the 2001 Nissan Maxima Anniversary Edition, and also some Infinity I-30 (I think).
