can some one diagnose this problem?

I was driving my 03 max and it died out on me while slowing down taking a turn. It happened 3 other times and i noticed the rpm's when slowing down drop rapidly more than normal. The engine light is on and sometimes the slip light and TCs light stay on as well.
The car is less responsive and it seems to be shifting weird.

Now i think it might be an issue with the timing or maybe a run code of some sort.

I would appreciate any help i can get before i take it to the dealer.... we all know how that goes $$$

PS. this happened to me one other time about a month ago when i got a transponder key programmed and the car died while driving but i ditched the key and it never happened again.

If the engine light is on, you should get the code(s) and post that information here too, along with any other detail about your car.

Some autopart stores offer that service for free. Around my area, almost all Autozone stores do. I have even seen advertisements from transmission shops that do that too. They hook up a scanner to a plug in your car, below your steering wheel, to pull the codes (usually the letter P followed by 4 digits, for example P0430). Make sure you make a note of the actuall code, not just the description.
