Braking Power

HEy guys just wondering I have an 03 Max i got June 09 and the brakes and rotors are fine. I noticed in ma sister 02 Accord when driving whenever i stop her brakes like instantly stop. The pedal feels tight. WHen i brake on my max it stops but not as tight as her car(Theres a few milliseconds of it rolling a little). I was wondering i just got new brakes and rotors in the front (nothing serious but nothin cheap eitha) and the back brakes which i changed last year and the back rotors (which i havent touched yet), Can it be something with my brake pedal not tight enough or some other internal issue????. Please Help

I think you should Re-read what you wrote. It helps on this forum if you can speak clearly.

-Brembo Rotors tend to be the choice of rotor on this forum, in the Group buy section
-Hawk HPS/EBC Reds/Axxis pads are the choice for pads on this forum, in the Group Buy Section
-SS Lines will help eliminate that spongy feel which in turn means you will have to bleed the brakes which will also help

Different cars have different feels, my Father's 04 Caddy with new brakes still feel spongy compared to my GTP with Corvette Brakes obviously. But what I said above should get you in the right direction, but the first thing you can always do is bleed the brakes and see if it helps cause that is the cheapest thing you can do.

I agree with the OP. My grandma has an '01 Accord (identical to the OP's sister's Accord), and its brakes feel tighter than the ones in my Maxima. I don't mind having to upgrade my brakes, but I think the Maxima should have come with better ones in the first place.

Just remember, brake "feel" and actual stopping distance are two different things. Unless you've compared both, it's not scientific...

Brakes feel fantastic in my 02.
New fluid, new rear calipers, and new rotors/pads on all 4 corners. Stops wonderfully. Very sensitive as well which just takes a day of getting used to.

Master cylinder issue?

Do the brakes 'pump-up'? Does the pedal sink if you apply and hold constant pressure?

Honda puts together some nice brake systems.

And some not..

I'd still prefer to work on my Nissan's brakes any day.....

And there is something wrong if you're not happy with your pedal. Mine feels great.

Spongy in my 02 as well. (Also just had both rear calipers and pads replaces. Rotors were turned because they're less than 6 months old. I can stop better, but after $500, the pedal doesn't feel ANY different.)

My pedal was soft and would pump up. After a few bleedings, I realized the master cylinder wouldn't hold under constant pressure (would slowly sink to the floor). I've since replaced the master which mostly (~90%) remedied the issue. I believe the remaining pump-up feeling is due to insufficient system/master bleeding upon installation, or a slightly compromised master (I bought a cheap replacement).

Good luck.
