Seems to me that it would be cleaner to connect the inlet & outlet leads from the water pipes with a single hose, rather than using this hose-barb. And then simply cap the two IM leads. Yes?

Aaron tends to instruct people in ways that are easily reversable. For example, with the VIAS-delete, he never comes right out and recommends removing the VIAS vacuum tank... but it's so much cleaner without it. And without the hose from the UIM... capping that is a lot cleaner as well.

I need to eyeball the situation later tonight if I get a chance.
You've got it.

Just to follow up with closure on my question... the bypass is back in place. Didn't use any barb-connector, just looped the longer of the two hoses back into the other waterpipe, and done. That makes for one less hose in the engine bay, and I do so like having a clean engine bay.

And I capped the TB leads, just in case the channel corrodes, but that's overkill anyway, being aluminum and all. Still, see an open connector, cap an open connector.

Don't you think he would have posted up a dyno if he had? I asked him, and he has not tested the DEK spacers on a dyno.

I'm interested in this mod more for the lengthened intake runners than the lower temps, but am always curious to hear testimonials and/or see some dynos. How many people have installed this so far on a DEK? My goal with these would to make me faster in an auto-x course, which relies mostly on torque, although with the amount of time the car spends idling between runs it makes me wonder if there is any amount of heat soak on hot days with the car just idling.

So....any updates? Don't make me be the first to dyno with these things...

Well, hell, since it's bumped (and piggybacking off of the above post for updates):

it may not be dynoed, but does it feel smoother in the mid-range? Stronger? Low-end effects? (if any)

I installed last year but can't comment on gains since I added a PFTB at the same time. But what a PITA it is to install on a DE-K!

Well I know that after I installed my PF TB I didn't notice much of a difference. Did you notice anything? I could only hope you felt gains in the low end from the spacers and gains up top from the PF TB....

I can't remove the canister without throwing a CEL. I could sim it, but I think that's why he doesn't say to throw it away.

What? I know this has been discussed before in other vias delete threads. There is no possible way removing your vias vacuum canister is going to throw a code...it has no sensor on it. The only way you will get a code is if you remove the vias soleniod. I simply looped one of the vacuum tubes off the soleniod back to the other outlet so moisture/debris wouldn't get into it and left the plug hooked up. Then, I removed the canister....no codes.

Thanks NWP. Fast shipping and took like 20 min to install. Did quick 60-90 (on off road course) and could tell that at shifts there wasn't as much of lag when rpm drops. Nice strong pull.

It was noticeable. I pulled harder up top. Low end I noticed very little improvement but that could be from the TB as well, hard to say. Out of the 2 it seems the PFTB was more beneficial to the feel.
