y-pipe questions

i have been searching for hours to find how easy the installation on a warpspeed y-pipe is on a 2000. I would buy it off ebay but i do not want to move any o2 sensors or cut existing pipe.
how much do they usually go for? or should i have one custom made y-pipe made from a local muffler shop?
i'm in Florida no emission testing

On paper the install is easy. When actually attempting you will need professional tools. Since you are in Florida you may have an easier time with less rust though.

When I replaced my y-pipe for the first time we had to cut out all 6 bolts holding the stock Y to the headers/cats, and the bolts at the main cat. That required a torch to cut it all out. Once the stock pipe is out its as easy as just lining everything up. make sure that your exhaust is sitting straight as well. My warpspeed was not a perfect fit and required heating up and bending numerous hanger through the rest of the cat back to get everything sitting straight and flush after install.

I managed to get my old y pipe off the car easy enough, but the warpspeed is not a bolt on. It required some moderate fab work including moving an o2 bung, and cutting some pipe and welding...

It's not hard at all dude.. No write up is honestly needed if you know what you're looking at. The only concern i've ever ran into was rust. So be careful. I believe all you need is a deep 14mm socket. spray some wd40 on there before, or pb blaster. Shouldn't be hard at all. If everything goes well it took me 20 minutes.

IIRC you will not have to relocate the rear O2 sensor it's a straight install!

well i ordered it. after trauma from the intake spacers im not sure if i wanna deal with any misfits. i may take it to an exhaust shop and pay like 50 bucks to put it on.
i will be putting it on with the stock exhaust so do i need a coupler that fits down to 2"?

Depends if you ordered the right pipe for your car. I had a Cali spec and bought a cali spec pipe. I did not need any extra coupler or pipe and I did not have to move any sensors.

Installing a y-pipe is more likely to throw a code the remove one. Maybe look into an O2 sim?

subscribing because Im in the same boat, just got an 01 SE and searched for Y-pipe installation and theres a bunch of different answers and opinions on weather or not youre going to need to extend the O2 sensor. The warpspeed website doesnt address this issue either....

I had gotten a stainless from the FS section of the site years ago. Just keep your eyes open and check often. They go quick.

just so you know if you order the right one there is no moving the o2. installer did it in 20 minutes with a lift pre pb-blasted nuts and air tools i personally tried to get it off with a socket set but it was hell so i just gave $100 to the guy to do it the installer didn't have to move the o2 sensor. the gains are great up top but you need something to help built more torque. i get more torque steer when i hit over 4k on an auto
