SE to GLE Tire Size

I was wondering if anyone has converted their SE's tire size from 225/50 to 215/55? Any difference in comfort?

I did this for my winter tires going with a 215-55 R16. I just changed back to my 225-50 R17 summer tires and i did feel a better grip to the road. That could be the tires or the change in size. It all depends why you are looking at a 215-55 tire $ or ride.

i've done 225/55 and i would say it negligible comfort improvement, but it was more apparent in handling, car felt more floaty, more sidewall flex-roll, steering response loss was most pronounced

my summer tires are 225/45zr17 and my winter tires are 205/60r16

I dont really feel a difference in comfort at all but handling is much better with the summer tires obviously

Any change in comfort you feel is going to be more related to the type of tire you use, especially with such a small change in tire size

The bigger diameter wheel will generally add more feel of the road, mostly depending on type of tire, too.

He's speaking of tire size, not wheel size.

for a winter tire you want the least amount of tire on the road.. summer tire you want more tire on the road..

You *should* feel better handling characteristics with a wider tire.. maybe not with a 10mm increase though

Not really sure my ride rolls good on some 245/35/20's but major is the brand of tire looking to do some 18's way lighter than 20's
