P0500 Issues, any ideas fellas?

Okay guys, here is my issue. I've got a 2000 SE 5-speed thats throwing a P0500 code (VSS). I've changed the sensor twice (brand new from the dealer) and still no luck. Any ideas?

You may have a short in the harness somewhere. There's quite a few wires to check. Do you have access to the service manual?

Yes I have the fsm. I did all the diagnostic procedures and everything checks out with the exception of checking for continuity between harness connectors M15 & E81. Where do I find connector E81?
