Anyone have any experience with this rear lip?

Just wondering if anyone has purchased a rear lip from here and how the fitment/quality is.

I'm not really concerned with the durability of it for the reason you said but I'm curious if anyone has had any fitment issues with it.

Just an FYI, durability does happen to be somewhat of a issue. I had one installed, and honestly the fitment was damn near perfect. However, I had a Cattman 2.5" Rear section, that after a spirited run for about 35mins, had melted my ABS rear lip in half and was dragging down the highway because the exhaust was so heated up. The fitment was so good that it hugged the exhaust tips nicely and my hangers did not allow for much adjustment. Just wanted to give you a headsup since I hear all the time, that it does not matter being ABS and is only a Rear Section. Maybe with a stock exhaust yes, but it will at least be scarred around the tips with an aftermarket setup.

Even Vastmax's Urethane has scarred a little and it's a genuine Stillen one. Not sure how many have experienced this, but it does and can occur.

Thanks for the heads up. That definitely has turned me away from purchasing this one because I don't have an OEM exhaust. Looks like I'll be purchasing a Stillen one. Thanks again.

you must of missed the second part of the post, there has been issues even with the stillen ones burning with aftermarket exhaust... i had the original stillen one and it was fine with my evo2 exhaust, however the person who owned it before me had it melted by the exhaust so i had to get it fixed before i installed it... they are all hit or miss, stillen or the one you posted

I've got a genuine Stillen kit and have had no issues with my OEM muffler with fitment or any burning or melting... Like grand hustle said though the rear shouldn't get much abuse unless parking poses a problem. But for a couple bucks more I would say go with a reputable company with good customer service...My .02

I didn't miss the second part. I feel like the Stillen one would be less prone to this happening because they use polyurethane as opposed to plastic.

That's exactly what I'll be doing. I'm better off spending the extra $70 or so for the quality.

believe me i wont try to steer you from the stillen cause it is a better product but i dont believe it is less prone to melting...

this was my stillen after repair... it happens bro... its moreso the possition of the exhaust rather than the lip

i think its better to mod your rear hanger to hang by half an inch than totally avoid the abs rear lip. heat dissipates a lot by a half more inch clearance i bet.

Only reason why I'm a bit skeptical about the ABS rear lip is because of what Deckedout2 said. His ABS was melted and split in half after only 35 mins of driving.

There's some sound judgement in post #10. I'll probably be trying this sometime soon.

Thank you for posting those pictures Deckedout2. Confirming why I'm going with the Stillen lip.
