5.5 parts in 5th gen. Questions about HID and seats
I might have found a low priced donor car with some parts i can use for my 5th gen.
How hard is the 5.5 HID headlamp swap into a 5th gen?
What parts do I need to specifically remove from the 5.5 to get them working right in the 5th?
I already know i will have to mate the drivers seat harness to the 5th gen drivers seat harness but overall it should be pretty easy.
Are the 5.5 gen seats really more supportive than the 5th gen? or am i really have $$$ going down the drain?

This has been answered about a million times but as far as the headlights, you need (obviously) the new 5.5 headlights and the 5.5 harness and about 5-10 inches of wiring (which you seem to have access to already). It should fit just fine, definitely no gap. From there the install is straight forward. A search will return many many threads on the topic.

The guy said one of the lenses may have a crack but the wiring should be intact.
I'm looking forward to the seats... my leather is as good as gone on the drivers seat. From some reading folks seem to prefer the 5.5 gen seats... I'll probably be doing a 1st hand check today!

read through this thread for the headlight swap.

Pretty sure all you'll really need are the harnesses and clips, but that thread goes more into detail.
As for the seats, I've done the swap and love it. Although, I went from non-leather 5.0 to leather 5.5.
One thing to note is that if the 5.5 seats you're putting in have memory you will have to do more than just convert the harness on the driver's side. The passenger side should wire right in though.
