Removing Grill?

Getting my body color painted grill today (hopefully) and I was wondering how to get the grill off. Checked the FSM, doesn't show that, just removing the whole bumper. I hope I don't have to do that, I was hoping there was an easier way. Thanks guys.

There are 3 bolts that clip into the grill. In between the radiator and the grill mount there are 3 nuts which go on those bolts to hold the grill to the car. To remove the grill just unscrew the nuts and pull the grill off. The bottom is held in by some tabs. Be aware I busted 2 of the nuts off getting my grill off, they were super ridiculously rusty thanks to New England winters.

So you don't need to pop the tabs that you see when you open the hood? I need to get a wrench or something in between the grill and the rad to remove those bolts?

Yes, I think they are 10mm nuts. It's kind of tight but you will be able to get to them and then like crystalline said the bottom just pops out/off.

Replacing the grill is probably one of the easiest things you can do. I removed mine and painted it black and replaced it without removing the bumper. Super easy.

From a previous post.....

"There are 3 bolts that clip into the grill. In between the radiator and the grill mount there are 3 nuts which go on those bolts to hold the grill to the car. Just see where the thing connects give it a slight pull and see what is holding it in. Look in between the grill there you should see the bolts holding it in. The explaination above is the best description and I can't explain it any better than that other than taking a pic. Perhaps you should look again.

there should be 1 on each side, cant remember top or bottom and 1 behind the emblem. you can remove the two plastic tabs on the top that hold the bumper that will give you enough space to get you hand in there and feel around.

Does this procedure apply if I were to remove the hamburger emblem or can that be removed without taking the whole grill out?

the hamburger is holding on plastic tabs which need to be squeezed together than it pops out. if you can feel it than you dont need to take the whole thing out, but its easier that way.
