Conventional oil - every 3k miles
Synthetic oil - every 5k to 7500 miles

I personally wouldn't wait over 5K miles to change my oil.

I do mine every 8 thousand.

I do add about two quarts over that period of time, so some of the oil is fresh.

I use Mobil 1 10w-30 and a Mobil 1 filter.

I try to do mine every 3000 on conventional 5w/30. It really depends on what oil and filter you use, just because the oil last longer doesn't mean the filter does too.

Pre-turbo, I used Mobil 1 synthetic (5w30). I now use 20W50 synthetic. I've always used Mobil 1. I've always had good luck with it. It is not the most expensive and it does the job.

Do some Used Oil Analysis (UOA) and you can start to figure out how long your choice of oil can last safely in your car. UOA has shown that 4000 or so is safe in my Maximas, and thats what I do.

I change mine around every 4000 with conventional oil. Although you get almost twice that with synthetic and using a high quality oil filter probably wont hurt.

I've heard nothing but positive comments about Lucas products. Always thought having a quart of Lucas around to top-off would be good for those 5.5 owners who are burning oil.

My dealership has been changing my oil now for almost 8 years, which makes that "Lifetime Oil-change" promotion really pay for itself when you own a car that long.

Mobil 5W-30, oil and filter every 3000 miles.

I go 3-4K miles or every other autocross between changes on Mobile 1 with a Fram filter. That may be overkill, but I rather err on the side of caution.

That stuff is completely useless...
There is no such thing as a fix in a car, motor oil in the sump is all that should be in the sump. That dumb oil stabilizer crap is nothing but a way for that company make money.

Terrible product with no purpose whatsoever.

Ok guys, just don't go over to Bob is the Oil Guy and let them know you're changing regular oil (heaven forbid synthetic) at under 5k mile intervals. They'll bite your head off! I change my regular oil at 5k mile intervals. I usually add about a quart of oil every 1k miles so the car has already had an oil change when I do the change anyway.

I have to say i'm a little shocked by the number of fram users on the forum. Glued cardboard is great for my cereal box but not for my oil filters.

This.

My UOAs came back saying I needed to change my oil, even synthetic, every 3200-3500. I was getting terrible results with Mobile One and it actually got better when I switched to Castrol GTX. And just so that no one thinks this is a one size fits all, my car burns about 2 quarts per 3000 miles, so bear in mind that I have other issues at hand. Bottom line is that the UOA was the most helpful thing that I could have done to help figure out what an "optimal" oil change interval was.

Word - Fram filters are garbage!!! The filter itself is no better quality than the cardboard box it comes in.

I've had very good luck using Castrol Syntec full synthetic at 8K intervals, with a Purolator Pure One filter. My 2KSE never burned a drop in the 62K miles that I drove it, and it's still going strong at 173K miles. I do drive in excess of 95% highway miles commuting to work. I hope my new(er) G35 gives me as good of performance.

I change my oil every 3,000 miles on all my vehicles. But if you read the owners manual it states to change the oil every 3750 (severe) or 7500 (normal) depending on driving habits.

I've always been upset with the tiny filter the 3.5 uses. I'll have to look into this next time i change my oil. Actually last time i was buying a filter i almost got one that was a low clearance filter and was like an inch shorter than the already tiny one. I couldn't believe they even had it.

Thanks!
