I would like to minimize the amount of roll in the car. I am not interested at the time in a new suspension, but capable of installing a sway bar if it helps. Does anyone have any insight on this topic.

I reccomend the stillen rsb, there are other less expensive ones that people like, up to you...

Addco is for everyday use, ie. for someone who doesn't need to adjust it at all.

Stillen is for ppl who need to adjust it, ie. for someone who goes auto-x-ing a lot.

Addco and Stillen work the same. Addco is a cheaper and a better deal for the "slap it on, forget about it guy". Stillen is a more expensive and a better deal for the "I need to adjust it everytime I go auto-x-ing guy".

clee, why would you want to adjust it for auto-x-ing? I mean me and umdmaxse and I forget but this other fellow installed a stillen rear sway bar on his car, and once it was put on, there does not seem to be much adjustment except that you can move it towards the front or towards the back of the car.

If you move it towards the back, the bar actually rubs again the beam because when you hit a bump the beam comes down and scrapes the bar. We had this happen, and we noticed we had it back to far, then we had to re-adjust it to be like a addco where it is exactly underneath the beam.

I'd have to agree with this...it's not that easy to adjust...to adjust it you essentially have to reinstall it, which is far from an adjustment...

one thing to consider is that the addco uses bushings to attach it to the frame while the stillen uses aluminium clamps...I liked the clamps better, some people have said the bushings can make noise, it's all personal choice and how much you want to spend...

Thanks for the info. I take it from the feedback that stillen is the best. Is there a big diffrence when it is put on. Any recommendations where to get it.

Well ... the Addco is basically unadjustable at all. It just attaches to the rear beam and there's nothing much you can do about that.

While Stillen's adjustment is essentially a reinstall, it's still "adjustable".

And I haven't heard any squeeks from mine. And if you do hear squeeks, your radio isn't turned up high enough.

Personal opinion: get the Addco, save money, use saved money to invest in other mods. But to each his own. Like bcannon said, "it's all personal choice and how much you want to spend..."

But there is a big difference when you put the RSB on (whichever one you decide to get). I have stock suspension and I can feel the difference.

This isn't completely true.

Depending on how tight the bushings are to the trailing arms. There's minor amount of adjustability in the basic addco package. and i stress minor.

You can change the endlinks to shorter or longer endlinks to either tighten up or loosen up the rear end, depending on your driving habits.

the stillen rsb is semi-adjustable.


too bad there's only two choices for RSBs for Maximas... and neither is really a huge improvement for the money.
