new clutch car wont move

ok guys so is been doind this project on and off for 3 days
so originally the car drove fine then got coffee came back and put in reverse, then i hear i clanking noise from the trans and the car wouldnt move. the car also stalled in neatrual. explained this to 2 different mechanics both said it was the clutch, so i gto a competition stage 2 clutch kit and throw out bearing.

took everything aprt and sanded the flywheel a little bit to get the glaze off cuz no one wanted to resurface my dual mass flywheel. so i put the new clutch on and throw out bearing put everythign back together and still same SH**!! the car will start up fine then disengage the clutch in neatrual and all i hear is the grinding clanking noise from the tranny. Pu it in first and the car feels like it wants to go but move ( no noise while in gear from what i understand) only when the clutch is disengaged and the car wont move.

It goes into all gears fine while the car is off and doesnt hesitate to go into first just again the clanking noise from the tranny and wont move???

any ideas??

P.S. i am not a professional mechanic so possiblity something was installed properly slight chance but its stil there

well if you read his post he says that the same problem he had before he installed the clutch has come back with the new clutch.
i vote that the tranny is toast and time to get a new "used" tranny.

this very well may be the case. it is strange though that the gears go in fine when the engine is off.

i can't imagine all the synchros going bad at the same time ???

he did say he isn't a mechanic so maybe if something was installed incorrectly, he might not be able to identify it.

is the clutch engaging and disengaging properly?

op, by any chance were you able to spin the trans. main shaft when the trans was out?

the only other thing i can think of at the moment is the trans. main shaft bearing may be dead, which would mean getting another transmission.
