Everyone loves their car. However if there's a "better" car they try to get it. It's common sense. An extra gear and a few minor changes in the body make people like it more. The 3.5l is a bonus. If you asked someone which car they'd rather drive an 03 g35 or an 07 g35 which do you think they'd choose? Same with a maxima.

I agree with keeping it real too. A lot of 5.5ers do feel superior, I guess 0.5L more adds 0.5" more these days

actually not neccessarily e-sub some ppl buy cars that they know have more aftermarket parts available that they can mod up
