i love my 00 just mainly for the fact its manual and i beat on it all the time.

 

because in 02 Nissan corrected all the problem with the 00-01

I love the light output of the 5.5gen HID's but im not a big fan of the housing.

IMO....01 Maxima AE + 3.5 6spd swap = perfection

 

best looking maxima (in my opinion) - black 02/03 with 00/01 SE tails, cleared and blacked out HIDs, and blacked out grill

People have a right to DO WHAT EVER THEY WANT TO THEIR CARS. You're asking why people do it I just told you why the majority would do it in my opinion. If someone loves their car as much as you do kudos. Some people preffer the looks of the 5.5 gen over the 5th, same way some people preffer the 5th gen look (yourself as an example) of the 5.5. Now seriously, there's your answer.

I never did it to my 5th gen but if I had it long enough I would, the bumper is bigger so it hangs lower (homo intended ) meaning a more slammed look.... and I like the lights more, there is a ton of reasons why ppl would change the front... I don't see how that not appreciating something, if the OP "appreciated his car you would keep it stock and don't change nothing (how dumb does that sound) I should start a thread saying "5.5. Not appreciated?" And ask why do it seem like all the 5.5's cange there taillights back to the 5th gens.... dumb thread.

I love my 5th gen, but I love the 5.5 gen. I'm not going to spend a lot of money to make a conversion because our cars are getting old, and though I love it to death, it'll be gone some day so I'll just save my money for something else. Maybe a used 07 Altima at that time or an Xterra?

 

This thread is def pointless...But coming from me, who just did the 5.5 front conversion, i will tell you that i completely appreciate the 5th and 5.5 gen. But the fact of the matter is the 5.5 front is just so sexy compared to ours, more geometrical and completely different grille. This doesnt mean i have no respect for the 5th gen but i just wanted a more updated and modern look, however i still love my se tails. Its just the best of both worlds, cuz in the end we all drive a maxima

You guys are supposed to be like"brothers" here on the org and youre fighting like a bunch of 15 y/o prissys from high school, everyone has what they have and people have different opinions on 5th gens vs 5.5 gens...theres not THAT much of a difference, i own a 2000 and well quite frankly my opinion is my car is fantastic its got 206k on it and runs like 50k whereas the vq30 has its issues just as well as the vq35 has its issues, there are more mods available for the 5.5 but if built properly either one would be untoucheable, ive smoked plenty of 5.5s and gotten smoked by plenty also its not always the car its more the driver, some people are scared to go above certain speeds...ive raced a 6mt 5.5 wit my 4at 5th and blew his doors off because he apprently was scared to go above 100... the body style IMO between the 5th and 5.5 isnt much different at all and both engines are comparably good engines so stop crying and whining and just get along...and as for this"maxima_king" do yourself a favor and just stop while youre ahead because ive seen people get banned for smaller reasons than this before......thanks and have a peachy day...btw go show off your maximas for all to see

Besides, there's nothing unique about it. You could murder any car and label it "sick"; (using today's lame manner of speaking.) No, there were only two 5th gen Maxima's of notoriety: the 2001 SE AE with full skirts, and the 2003 SE TE in Polished Titanium.
