i would. guy sounds like he took care of it. and he knows what kind of car it is. 197k is a bit, but he just did all the major tune ups that should be done at that mileage. def a nice project car. price is right too.

Are you talking replacing your I35 with it, or just having it as a project car?

Project. I've been looking for a cheap convertible to play with, but then I found this and I've been drooling ever since. Can't decide now.

DO IT!! 4th gen Maxima was definitely one of my favorites, too bad I never owned one. My ex girlfriend and my friend both owned 5 speed 4th gens and they loved them.

How about a Miata, if you can find one? The older ones are really cheap now, and the engine swap possibilities are endless...

Do it, it's absolutely gorgeous. I'd trade my '00 in for it right now.

I'm still seriously considering it. Need to do some math tonight and figure out if we have the $$$. I think I may go for it unless I spot another convertible.

(I like Miatas, but I've got kids, too. Rear seat is a must.)

well it looks like a good buy... and if you want, just do a motor swap project... if you know metal work... maybe it could end up a convertible! id almost pay to see that! lol can you say, removable hard top! or maybe you can settle for custom dual moon roofs!

Very clean, but like everyone else said miles are on the high side. I got my 96 Maxima SE 5 speed fully loaded (power leather, Bose, sunroof, spoiler, alloys, ACC) with 138k miles for 3,000 about a year ago.

I'm going to pass. Rethinking my options. My mechanic said I should go for the convertible and look for a 98/99 Mustang with a V8. He's going to an auction later this week and says he should be able to find one for about what that guy is asking for the Max.

I'm also going to repost this in the 4th gen forum so they can see it.
