blue some at high speeds

Slight history for those who don't know, my car has been out of service for about 5 or 6 months due to a blown motor and slipping trans, I just recently got it back and what I notice is that after 100mph the car starts smoking, like a very noticeable trail of blue smoke, it doesn't feel like a loss of power or nothing wrong, if you were to never look back you wouldn't know that its smoking... I'm sure its some kind of oil issue, but what can it be?? What can I do to check?

Because you need to go 100mph all the time...

:P

Its probably just at higher RPMs in general, not just over 100mph..

I guess it's possible that if the last motor was blowing oil it could've built up in the cat and sat there, maybe it's burning out now with the RPM's being high for a longer period of time? Just throwing it out there...Wouldn't hurt to do a compression check and a CLT just to be sure it's not currently burning oil

HG wont do it (blue), but bad rings or oil seepage through the valve seats will.

HG will shoot a thicker white smoke, since coolant will leak into the combustion chamber.

It's probably the residue from your last engine in your stock cat. When I installed my test pipe/cat-back, we had to weld a wideband bung in, and a tiny bit of slag leaked in there, and it shot a fair bit of smoke out at high speed/WOT. It's gone now.

Blue smoke at high rpms is usually rings if it is coming out the exhaust. Bad valve guides usually show up as a puff of blue smoke when you start the car. You could also have a small oil leak somewhere that is landing on a part of the exhaust and at 100+ appears to be coming out of the tailpipe.

im on the gasket/ring train... cat is unlikely - if it is cat buildup though you would notice it start to go away in maybe a hundred miles at most...

if yr askin "what to check?" start with yr oil keep a constant eye on it to see if u burn more than a vq should lol...if not then oil could b built up in yr cat...if yes then yr engine is all done....if the engine was smoked then it should smoke at high rpms..not just at high speeds.

The car doesn't somoke at high rpms, I will redline 1st and 2nd and nothing happens.. as soon as I'm in 3rd then I can see it in the rearview... WOT in 1st and 2nd won't do anything, I only have a code for p0031 but I'm sure I wouldn't get a code for anything doing with this problem... I will be changing the cat this Monday and possibly do a compression test to see... ill go search on how to seafoam

a year ago the motor blew in my WS-6, i got a used motor from a friend(dont know how long the motor had been sitting) and when i would floor it with the new motor a slight blue smoke would come out.. it went on for abt 2 months then it went away.. must be something about a motor sitting.
