Window Alignment?

Has this happened to anyone else? BOTH of my front windows look like this. The tint line shows where the window used to be (and this is a pic of the passenger window) but they both seem to have slipped forward about half an inch to the point where air gets in and they whistle unless I physically push the window back into place.

Any thoughts? (And any on how to fix it?)

I would start by removing the door panels to check the condition of the regulators on each door. It could be something as simple as bolts that are loose or have fallen off, and are no longer securing the assembly to the door frame.

How easy is it to remove the panels? The last time I had to remove door panels it was on my old Taurus - cracked one almost in half because they were only cheap plastic.

I have yet to do it on a maxima. I have done it on a Toyota and it is fairly easy. I'm assuming there are intructions in the FSM.

its rather easy to remove the panels, i have had to do it several times. there are 2 screws on the front and only 1 in the rear. pop the cap off from little change cup on the door and there is the 1st screw. there is another pop cap to the front of the front door also. just remove those screws then you should be able to lift the little cup on the door out. maybe use a little screwdriver to get underneath of it. then on the bottom of the panel there is a cut out. put your hand there and pull out to yourself. its rather scary cuz you feel like your gonna break it but there are several poptabs around the area. once you pulled the bottom part towards you, just push the panel up and it will come off. then just unplug the wires from the window buttons and you have the panel off. Its alot easier then it sounds.
Sorry for the long explanation but just thought i'd try to help. My window also does the same thing but i have never really tried to figure out what was causing it. but goodluck!

Its just so weird that both of the windows started doing it at the same time. It's as if different things in my car were planned to break at certain times. Last week it was the door locks - driver door and the rear passenger door lock motors died at the same time.

Ive also noticed that lately, the number of things I've posted has shot up by about 100 in the last month or two - all of which have revolved around various car problems. I haven't posted anything about a mod in quite some time. Too busy keeping the damn thing running to play with it.
