My metric nature played me this time. You're probably right, 25% sounds too much.

My buddy did it to his wife's G20. It was near empty and he put 3-4 gal of diesel. All we did was fill it up with gas. No issues as a result.

I am no expert on diesel+gas, but if you wanted to go the route of dilution, fill with gas, run 25 miles, fill up again. Do this 3x or 4x and maybe you're going to be ok. Every time you fill up you lessen the concentration of diesel.

Good luck.

That's a dilution of 1/16th each time.
Cripes you're only burning off a gallon at a time, if not less.

Yes, but if you have a chance replace the fuel filter. It is the round cartridge inside the fuel assembly.

There is no reason to do anything other than drain the tank (however you decide), and refill it full with a full tank of gas.

I have had something close to this happend to me. My Dad is an aircraft AI/A&P and at the time was working for Customs. When an aircraft was in need of something that required them be defueled and the gas would be stored in 55 gallon barrels for disposal. This was also done for the Jets and Heli's which use Jet A. Well one day I stopped by and fueled up with what we thought was 100LL (100 octane Low Lead which is blue in color), well someone had also put in some Jet A (which will run in a diesel, but needs a little lube) into the barrel as well. We filled the whole 16 gaallon tank and drove home (about 20 miles). I got about 5 miles away and it sounded like the valves were singing, and a slight loss of power. I continued on and got to the house, put it in park and was unable to get the engine to shut off. The idle just went up. I moved it in and out of gear (with the ignition off but unlocked) and it just kept running. I ended up having to remove the aircleaner and smother the carb with a rag to get it to shut off. The mixture of Av Gas to Jet A was about 1/4th of the tank by his estimation, any more than that and it probably wouldn't have run at all.

The next day I got 3 5 gallon jugs from work and siphoned out all that I could, poured in 5 gallons of car gas and drove it to the corner store and filled up the rest of the tank and never had a problem.

Its not going to hurt anything else in your car the guys that are saying to replace all the rubber parts and pump are talking out of their hats. Diesel isn't going to hurt anything, the engine just won't run on it.

Jeff
