Just wondering.
I miss the rear wheel drive from my 300zx.

 

Too expensive for me at the moment. Plus, I think it should have more than the 255hp 3.5, more like the rumored 280+ hp Z will have.

 

I think that I agree with blackmax2000. I would rather have the new Z, it has more of a following which means that there will probably be more mods available for it.

 

RWD "maxima", lux items, 5-sp auto (don't care to be the fastest), should have better leg and head room, should have better resale value, should stand out.

Z is next on list (if it has good head and leg room).

 

I am VERY interested in the G35 as my next car. My lease expires on my SE in less than 8 months. My biggest issue will be if they offer the 6 speed. If not, no thank you.

I was tempted by the IS300, but all you have to do is spend about 10 minutes on their forum to realize that most of them are owned by kids. They ask silly questions like, "my parents are buying me an IS300 for my 16th birthday...what color is coolest?" Questions like that just pi$$ me off! Besides, the IS300 is slower, much smaller and missing a ton of creature comforts.

I think the G35 would be a great compromise between the IS300 and a Max SE...but I won't forgo the manual trans.

If Infiniti would have used the Z engine and a manual. The new Z is a two seater, correct?

On the Lexus IS300 you have to manually use a push bar to hold open your hood, how cheesy is that on a $30,000 car.

 

I thought I read somewhere, (Car& Driver?)that the G35 would list
somewhere near 30k.
If that is the case, and they offer a 5/6 speed, or at least a manumatic, I will give serious thought to a trade in.

I'm with Kev on this. Evo VII is my next car. Only thing to decide on is the color..

 

R35 GT-R is my next car. Hopefully I can save enough between now and summer 2003 to afford one. Personally I don't like how the G35 looks.

 

just checked out the website for G35 and wow, the tails look pretty funky.. car does look awesome though. i read somewhere that it won't cost more than $30K? dunno, any info on prices?

Depends what colors they offer. If they have blue then mos def I'll go with blue. Second choice would be silver, hopefully a better looking silver than our Sterling Mist. I have 2 other friends here @work that are gettig the Evo as well. What color you getting?

 

If they only offer the colors of the current Lancer, then
1) Silver (ligther than sterling mist) or Grey (sort of like grey lustre)
2) Yellow
3) Black or White

If they have blue, then that might be first depending on the shade.

The G can't be too expensive. Its a step below the I-series, so you'd have to expect it to be less than the I35...it will probably be close to the price of a loaded Maxima + one or two grand.
