How do you rev a drive by wire from engine compartment???

Not picking fights.... More like fighting fire with fire...
It was a legitimate question and it seems like drive by wire should have accommodated the need of people like me that need to diagnose a sound and people like ^*^*^ that want to show off that tight sound.
this is much better then this

The reason there are 2 of each sensor is so there is reference point since the ECU makes sure they're in check. If there is a small voltage spike, the tolerance goes away, and BAM, fail safe mode.
I learned this the hard way when I was wiring my wideband to read throttle position, kept going into fail safe...![Mad](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif)

(I believe this is also called LIMP Mode.)

It's a different mode than say what the 4th genners refer to as fail safe/limp mode. because they can still get to 2500 as fast as ever, just cant go beyond.
Example being, you can still drive home normally from work in a 55 MPH zone, normal acceleration etc, hang with traffic with the 4th gen. The 5.5 gen, hell no, you're getting passed by mopeds.

**Sorry for hijacking the thead, but I guess it is kind of related - in a 4th cousin twice removed kind of related.

My guess is the only real way to give the engine revs from under the hood would be to use a hacked OBD2 scan tool to send signal to the appropriate sensors. How this would be done I've got no idea but I'd say in theory it should work. I am not responsible if anyone chooses to try this.
