I need advice on tires for my 2k SE 17"

Currently only Bridgstone, Pirelli and Michelin make tires in 225/50/17 size. Can I get a different size? If not, which is the best overall tire?

Well how do you drive? It all depends on what kind of performance you want out of your maxima. If the stock bridgestones lasted you longer than 16,000 miles then i would say you are conservative and should go with a high performace all season like a Dunlop sport 4000 A/S. If you drive hard, and push your car. I would reccomend the Dunlop Sport 8000. I don't have them on my maxima now, but i used to have them on my saab 9000 turbo. These tires were amazing, the harder you push them, the more they grip. Treadwear sucks, but they are still awesome. Go 245/45 17.

check out my threads called "Tire Sizes" and "Bridgestone Potenza 950"

I plan to get 235/45-17 which would have a thinner sidewall...it will throw off your speedo a very little, if you are going 60 it will say 59.5 or something like that...no big deal...

And?

How have they been for you, specifically in the wet?

I got the Nitto 450 Extremes at a local shop for $125each. You can get them at www.onlinetires.com for $121 each, plus about $55 in shipping for all four.

Nitto 450 extreme

Discount Tire quoted me $118 each for them the other day… mounting included.

I’m looking into them too. Have heard mixed reviews, but mostly good. Either way, they’re better than the $147 Potenza RE-92s…and they look really cool!
