eBay bumper covers

Okay, some a-hole backed into my car and now my rear bumper cover has a dent with paint flaked off and what not. I was thinking of getting an estimate at a body shop to see if it can be repaired, but figured if it can, then labor alone would cost a bunch.

I see some new primered covers sold on eBay for $170 shipped. Are they any good? Would it make more sense to buy an aftermarket cover and have a shop spray it than to have the one I have now repaired? My paint is sterling mist metallic and from what Ive seen in previous paintwork, it's very hard to match. Might just leave it be but it's a huge eyesore.

Don't want to go through insurance since my collision deductible is $250 and I don't want to make another claim on the policy. Don't know who did it. TIA

dont know where you live but replacing a bumper if you do go through insurance will likely be 6-800 bucks, so itll be well worth going through insurance. i would try to find a local aftermarket supplier as opposed to ebay. if the fitment is poor, you can at least return it. i just painted my bumper sterling mist and the color match is pretty good. without blending the quarter panels it'll never be perfect, but its as close as bumpers are even from the dealer.

Thanks for replying. I had insurance total an 04 Civic 1.5 years ago, and before then someone smashed up my rear quarter panel and insurance paid for that too and my premium didn't get raised. Afraid that if I go through insurance that my rate will be jacked up. Better to pay a few hundred up front than to pay thousands in the long run.

Ideally, I'll find a used 00-03 oem rear cover, but after skimming through the classifieds here and ebay, they seem hard to come by. Have a Certifit around here and might give them a visit. It's cosmetic damage so I might live with it until the right part comes along.

i bought a used bumper fro mine and it was a mess. it took me a couple of weekend to get it ready to paint. theyre expensive oem though and i've seen some poor fitting a/m ones, so even though it took me time to get it right it was worth it for me.

I had someone back into my Maxima when I was parked at a waffle house. The people had the nerve to drive off. I got the license plate number called the police and had my insurance fix it. I had a $500 deductible at the time and it was about $800 to get a new rear bumper at the dealership.

I just received my painted front bumper cover from ebay seller Aircardcorp. Mine was $330 delivered, $255 + $75 (3 stage Glaicial Pearl White ). The paint is very nice and is very good match. The only issue I have is one chip.

The body shop wanted $477 + paint charge.
