Ok, so some of you may have seen this thread that I started last night:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....31#post7656131
This is what happened after I seafoamed my car and took her for a spin. I just have a concern or two about the video and another issue:

1. If you watch the video, at 0:36 seconds, there is a loud "pop" sound and some air shoots out the exhaust. Is this normal? It's never happened before when revving in neutral... I've had a similar (but less extreme) pop sound when I'm driving about 60mph downhill and let off the gas completely. I assume this is just part of having headers and a 3" exhaust? Could the MAF gradually going bad cause this in any way?
2. Also, I've had a slight raspy sound that sounds like it's coming from directly under the head unit area (like around the flex section of the y-pipe or maybe further forward, IDK). It only happens under load and acceleration (part throttle) around 2000-3800rpms... It seems it has gotten worse over the last 2 days until my MAF crapped out. Could this sound be an engine "ping" that I just hear through my headers/exhaust or is it just exhaust noise? Can a bad MAF cause engine ping? I just thought that this sound was normal with my setup... I only noticed it after my headers/3" cat-back install... but maybe it was engine pinging all along and not exhaust noise? Please help me out if you can! Thanks.

the popping is pretty normal if you dont have a cat its backfiring.
I drive a rotary engine it pops all the time.

yea, cattman exhausts always had crazy backfires lol, at first it seemed like your car was sputtering but i guess that was because of the seafoam but its all seemed fine at the end

i got a buddy with an RX8 (or he did have it til he blew the motor) anyways, he could be in second at regular driving speeds and it would shoot flames, he was named "yoga flame"

Good to know about the popping. Yeah, it was sputtering at the beginning due to the seafoam... anyone have any comments on my other concern? (the rasp noise)

Yea I heard the rasp, I don't think it was that bad to be honest but I guess you can change from a test pipe to a high flow cat or a cattman fastcat... I say leave it to be honest

I have a Cattman Fastcat. I just wanted to make sure the rasp (when under load and acceleration) between about 2000 and 3800 rpms is not engine pinging. I THINK it's just exhaust noise, but I want to be sure.
