CEL p3000
I just purchased a 02 maxima 6 speed 1 month ago and it is throwing off a p3000 code. The car has 140xxx on it and I believe it's a miss fire.b can you please help me. Thanks.

Do you mean P0300? There's no such thing as a P3000. It could be a few things, like a coil pack. Remove a coil pack while the engine is running, if the engine speed changes, that coil is good. If there is no change in engine speed, then that's a bad coil pack.

You have couple of choices. If the car is running badly, you can find the offending cylinder by doing cylinder cut out test. If you carry scanner with you all the time, keep on checking the code until you get a specific cylinder code either as pending or as stored. Once you had specific cylinder code, check/replace spark plug and/or coil for that and see if problem goes away. Both spark plugs and coils on these are consumable items.
If neither coil or plug does not fix your p0300 problem, then you have bigger issues such as valve out of adjustment or head gasket leaks but then you will have other symptoms too.
