replaced with a used transmission, engine idle has problem

Hi, my tranny had gone bad, so I bought a used one (only 60k miles), and have a transmission shop replaced it for me. The tranny is good now, but the idle speed seems to have problem.

When I start the engine RPM goes to 1500-2000 then drop to 0 and engine stops. However, it is not always like this, I'd say 50% of time it will drop to 0 and stop, and 50% of time it will go back to 600-700 normal idle RPM (or go from 1500/2000 to 200 then back to normal).

However, stop at red light or stop sign has no problem, engine is at steady 600-700 RPM. Only occurs when I start the car.

The transmission guy said this has nothing to do with transmission, but my point is, I never had this problem and this problem happened after the tranny swap.

I kind of think that this should has nothing to do with the transmission itself but it may have something to do with the installation. The garage that installed my tranny asked me to drive it for a few days, if the problem still exists, take the car back and they will check if their installation of the tranny is good.

What you guys think?

Are there any trouble (MIL) codes?
