Replace rear caliper

I can't find a link to replacing a (rear) caliper. Does anyone know one?

Ive searched and found lots of pad references, but have to replace caliper and don't know any tricks, or how to approach disconnecting the brake line! Thanks

It is really not that hard, Take off the caliper the same way that you would change out your brake pads. then, make sure the Ebrake is off and take off the cable for it on the caliper. Once you have that off, the only other wire is the brake line. Before you take off the brake line to this caliper, get your other caliper prepped to put in. Take out the nut on the brake line, some fluid will come out so be prepared, it doesnt gush or shoot out tho. then just reconnect it to the new caliper. Then put the ebrake cable back and your pretty much done, just reassemble the same way you would changing brake pads. I actually just changed both of my rear calipers this morning too.

bleed now?

Thanks, yeah worked ok so far thanks.

Now I'm wondering.... do I have to bleed all 4 wheels or just the 2 rear calipers. I remember reading somewhere there is an order to do it so that the abs system works properly?

when I installed my 300zx BBK the pedal was terribly mushy until I bled all four. I highly recommend bleeding all of them In the recommended order.

hi all
sorry to bring back this old thread,
last weekend i replaced all 4 rotors and pads, and soon will replace a frozen caliper (rear driver side). i called up the dealer and i belive rear calipers go for 210$.

Aftermarket calipers can be found on line anywhere from 60-100.
What brand do you guys suggest? any experiences with A1- Cordone calipers?

I also need to replace the passanger rear brake line, while i am at it i think rather do both lines.

any sugestions will be apresciated.
thanks

You have looked at the different caliper options on Rock Auto? I need to replace one of the rear calipers as well and haven't done it yet.
