Stock suspension limits

Stock suspension limits
Those of you that consider yourselves better drivers. What is general speed limit of the stock suspension? I mean as far as safety sake. I'm heading to Arizona and there are some fairly straight and deserted roads where I'm at that I like to run my car at. I used to run my 87 SE up to 110-120 or so. I know it all depends on the driver, I'm just curious what others think. I've got a 2K SE.

if you have a 2k SE 5sp...you should have no problem going over 130
If you have an auto...it might be limited around 135...
People have got to 147-153
You should have no problem with the stock suspension at all in any kinds of speeds....140mph should be ok

[According to oficer Jones of the Arizona State Police, 110-120 should be just fine. All he asks is to let him know the date of your trip to Arizona.

I've got a 5 speed so I'm not worried about hitting the limiter, but I'd be a little surprised to see that someone went 150 with stock suspension. I get a decent amount of body roll at 80-90. I guess I'll just have test it.

On a straight smooth road suspension has very little to do with speed potential, suspension only counts on bumps and turns (Bonneville speed record cars typically have solid axles front and rear). If you're getting body roll, you're turning. The safe speed in a turn is a function of curve radius, road surface, suspension, tires, center of gravity and aerodynamics, there's no one speed.

I realize that. My question was poorly worded as I was inquring about something that depending on many factors like you mentioned. The area where I'm going is no F1 course or anything, but it does have its share of simple curves. There obviously is no good or right answer, I was just curious as to what people thought about the suspension.

If you have the 17" you'll feel better then the 16"
Ofcourse there are gonna be some little trouble with the suspensnion but i never heard of people who got to those speeds and mentioned something about the suspension being a trouble. Just increase your speed and see how the car feels and how you feel...hehe
