Front (metail) knocking sound - Please help!!

I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE with 190K and runs great except I have knocking coming from the front passenger area. I just replaced all shocks with KYB GR2, replaced the tie rods, and both front control arms and bushings, replace rotors also and aligned, but the knocking is still there when driving on freeway and going over rough roads. Can anyone provide me with some help to resolve this issue? Thank you very much for your help.

FYI - Both froont wheel bearing and CV Joints replaced 2-3 yrs ago

Check the strut nut tightness on the side that is having the noise. also make sure the rest of the hardware is tight.

Good idea, Froggy.

Front strut nuts are supposed to be torqued down between 43 - 51 ft lbs, according to the FSM. (43-58, according to Stillen, but that's with a FSTB bracket.)

I set my torque wrench to 50 ft lbs.

Thank you. Will try and let you know.

Froggy,

On a side note, I am looking for OEM headlight replacements which are very dull so how do you like yours? Do they help you to see better, how much, and from where? Thanks.

Other items to check:
1. Passenger Side (Front) Engine Mount
2. Top hat/strut bearing (Did you replace those w/the struts?)
3. Sway bar bushings.
4. Wheel bearing/hub

Those are actually the OEM ones blacked out. If you want to clean your up then I recommend the 3M headlight brightening kit. That plus about 20 minutes per side with a drill and you'll see a night and day difference. Just be sure to buy the Green masking tape to mask everything off. The sanding discs blow through the blue stuff like wet toiletpaper.
