Mass airflow sensor

Ok so I have been reading and searching for days I have a 2k2 with MAS problems my question is. I saw that some people changed to a 2K1 MAS and moved the IAT resistor.

Is it possible that the resistor is bad and doing so would only give you the same problem?

I know it's the better move as far a price goes. but what other options do I have.

There was a thread with pictures of the IAT swap does anyone know where it went.

Sorry tried the search and came up empty..

Thanks in advance.....

The piece you swap is a thermistor and the likelihood of that simple part failing is like 1%. When my MAF fails, I will be buying the 2k1 MAF and doing the swap.

Interesting, I wonder if anyone has had any issues later on when swapping the thermister over. Why the F*** would Nissan charge so much if thats the only difference between the two?

The only issue I noticed about the swap is when you don't secure the thermistor well enough. You really need to lock it in there to make sure it has a permanent contact.

I just recently installed the 2k1 MAF into my 2k2 and swapped the thermistor. It came with a piece of paper to reprogram the ECM to countermeasure specifications and provided a TSB # but since it was for a 2k1 i did the ECM reprogram countermeasure procedure for the 2k2 sensor. It has been in for almost a month now and I haven't had any problems.
