So I was asking 2 of my friends at a last meet how I could get my needles brighter and one of them and I tried his idea last night. He wanted to take the orange off my needles and put a bulb right under the needles and make them hyper white. It didnt work cuz the whole needle is orange. We took his spare 4th gen needles and took out my overlays. for now they light stock but I bought 2 hyper white leds to try out. if i decide on blue the white is going in the trip computers.

The 4th gen needles are black and have clear going down the center, so i wanna go with hyper white.

those look sick with the white 4th gen needles i never thought of that. i threw hyper white leds in the sockets and it comes out a hint of blue so you mind as well just go with the blue. how did you put the needles back on is there a certain way to do it because somehow i messed mine up?

 

the 4th gen needles need to be cut a little where they attach to the pin, otherwise they fit right in just make sure you dont go too far or the needle will get stuck.

when we first put the needles back on, the gas gauge was wrong. I had no gas yet it read i had a half a tank. (i was hoping it magically appeared in the tank but it didn't lol) anyway I fixed this by:
pulling that needle back off
turned the car to the "on" position so the gas gauge would go up to its spot
put the needle on the same place you had it when you had it before you took the gauges apart making sure it is in position before you press down.

*this works well when you've just filled up your tank the best and especially if you messed up the gauge from a first attempt as it goes on the top part of the thick line there.

The heat gauge is the same principal tho I would do it when the car is cold because you just place the needle touching the stopper right above it.

I didn't have problems either time I did this with the tack or speedo so I wouldn't have an answer for those, i think those are simple tho...:
put the needles back on when the car is off or with the gauges unplugged or whatever and both are placed where they would sit.

no the lights on on there way now. only got 2 for now so i can decide between white and blue. if i decide on blue those white lights will go to just the trip computers. I will update as soon as they come in.

 

g 35 needles work as well. you can scrape the red/orange off so they are clear.

 

the g35 needles would have gone with my g35 sedan seats lol. however we had the 4th gen gauges easily accessable since it was my friend's broken gauges

i see ur idol is at 800 or so, mine is always at 200-300 is this a problem, i have a 02 se 6 speed.

I thought I explained that I guess I didn't in the first post. yes the car was off. The Needles got stuck because they were too far pressed down. I fixed it lol.
