i wouldnt think the eye lids would with stand the heat...it would probably soften the glue too much but anyway i think the semi gloss black is the ebst look on a black 5th gen ;]

I know guys that have left the eyelids on during baking---no problems.

On a side note: how do you remove the ignitor from inside the headlight? I tried pulling it out, but it won't budge.

You don't even have to paint them, the silver color on the inside peels off. Just take a rag soaked with hot water/soap or rubbing alcohol/acetone and rub it off.

I did matte black and I love the way they look. But to each their own.

Any black will look good. Honestly, in that area (inside the headlights) it won't matter too much how glossy/flat the black is.

As for the eyelids... They'll be fine. You're only baking the lights at 215 degrees max. Just to soften the adhesive. It shouldn't have any adverse effects on the eyelids.

Maxima Dude, I'd love to see pics of this project when you're done. I've always been interested in this mod.

Since we're laughing about silly colors... I tried painting the reflector lens on my fogs once. That was a very, very bad idea. LOL!

It's okay. I'm putting my stock suspension back on for the winter. I'll need a damn ladder to get my 6'1" self in the car.

That's the one positive aspect of living in the south...minimal snow = lowered year-round.

Oh, and hot southern ladies. That's another positive aspect.

The snow isn't bad here. But I'm doing what many may consider "reallocation of resources" over the winter to come back faster and lower in the spring.

I was shooting for an "amber" look to the fog, and I had this old lens lying around, so I baked it and painted the reflector orange, then put it on the car just to see.

Damn funniest thing I've ever seen. At night it was pink. Honest... pink.

It was such a total fail. Live and learn, eh?
