spark plug gap... what do you run
So i was curious on this as i regapped my plugs last night. I was at 44-46 and gapped them to 38. Maybe in my mind but it feels snappier. Not crazy but a smidge snappier. Ive searched and really couldnt find a thread talking about anyone experimenting with gap. So im curious what everyone runs, what they have experimented with and if anyone has definitive #s on this gap vs that gap. I know a greater gap will yield more power due to a better burn but is susceptible to misses while a smaller gap doesnt get as full a burn as a larger one. Also i know the gap has an effect on timing in the fact a smaller gap will spark quicker than a larger gap therefore sparking a degree sooner than the other.
So im curious what everyone runs and also if anyone has looked at there sparkplugs to how they burn.. carbon buildup, ashy, light brown (perfect).. and such

My fathers a mechanic and i grew up around working on them. Even the sites online state not all come out of the box exactly what they should be for a gap. . Also from a little reading yesterday the Iridium and platinums are good for longevity but not the best for performance. When i have to get new plugs i thik im gonna go for copper.
They stated copper is as better conducter although you need to change them out every 20k which i could care less about.
