5.5 gen 6 speed to auto swap parts list
5.5 gen 6 speed to auto swap parts list
hey, i have 6 speed max and i am contemplating the switch from manual to automatic as the car will be driven by other members of the fam. anybody have a parts list? i was looking at the auto to 6 speed parts list, but i wanted to have a list a little more concrete as i am not too familiar with all this car mumbo jumbo. thanks!
Off the top of my head..auto tranny, torque converter, maybe auto brake pedal, auto transmission control module(tcm), shifter... Those are somethings to get you started, but I don't know a complete list of what you would need. Good luck.

Oh woooooow! How often dow you see this???.... if you want to get rid of the car i'd switch. My auto for your 6spd..... hit me up, i'd put an auto back in the car, you can have all the mods if you want... I don't mins starting from scratch
Seriously, that will be 100 times easier than going through all the work, costs, and headaches of swapping the transmission.
Its cool if he wants to keep his ride and swap, ill have all those misc parts if h needs em... he will also need a passenger side axle.... shoot ill trade his brake pedal for my brake pedal lls... how sooon is the OP looking to do this???
Really?
As others have said, it would be easier to just sell your car, and find an automatic. Or better yet, list your car here to trade with someone if you really need an auto.
If you were closer, I would gladly make that trade.

My mom is too old to learn new tricks so she can't drive stick . Plus selling and buying a car is a huge hassle as well for me so I think if I can see this thing thru I would be better in my situation. I'm in atl, where are you at ghustle? And did you get a new tranny? I read you were on your like 9th trAnny.

Ohh I almost forget howyou gonna test drive the trasmission to see if it is slipping???
I can't believe I am reading this.... do you know how much work it will be to swap a trany??? You gonna have this thing I a garage for at least a week or two and then when you are ready to test drive it will be some little part that you need that will take you another week or two to find??? Plus the amount of money you gonna put in to this project ... Just sell the car and find one that is auto
Auto tranny
Auto tranny mount
Auto engine harness complete
Auto main ecu
Auto tranny computer
Auto shifter cables
Auto shifter assembly
Torque converter
Auto flywheel
Auto flywheel bolts
Auto starter
Auto axles
You can most likely get away with the 6 speed brake pedal
Not to mention all the random little bolts, nuts, clips, etc. that you might need. If you really wanna go through with this, find a wrecked 02-03 and start swapping. I would love to see this happen just for the technical aspect. But like others have said, this is not a good idea as far as practicality goes. There are plenty of people on the org that would love a 6 speed, find someone to trade with.
