88$ eBay Coilovers

has anyone ever seen or heard of these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DNA-N...ht_4480wt_1164

I know i'm going to get alot of "Oh god, another kid wanting ebay parts." but i'm going to post anyways because i'd rather know if anyone has tried them, and to stay away, rather than make an 88 dollar mistake. If no one has tried them or knows nothing about them, then i'd be willing to be the first to try these out.

I searched it, but i didnt find anything.

Don't know anyone running these on their car. Looks cheap. You definately get what you pay for and I've always believed there are some things you just don't go the cheap route on. But, if you can do the work yourself and your struts are in great shape, then try them and let us know.

Do keep in mind, oem and stock replacement struts are typically only good for about 1.5" drop. Anymore than that and your struts, even new, will die fast (as reported by other members). There are a ton of great threads outlining lowering components and combinations on the Maxima through these forums. The Shiftice sight is also a fantastic reference.

I'm not so sure about that because this is probably the third or fourth thread in the past month about these.

To answer your question, the consensus seems to be that they're garbage and it does not appear that anyone on the forums has them to give you insight for that exact reason. Word to the wise, suspension components are not the kind of parts to be cutting corners on. Save that for small things like ordering cheap LEDs from China for the interior lights.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if $88 would be a big deal for you to lose if you gamble on trying these and it doesn't work out then it's best not to even bother.

Not really worth the risk to me. If the cheapo springs break your gonna lose a lot more than $88 in repairs

I swear, these damn coilover threads are getting as tiresome and repetetive as the header threads were last year.

Especially for people on coils anyways.

Aside from the triflin-ness don't bother with sleeves. They'll ride terribly, you'll get launched out of your seat driving over small pebbles.

$88 Coilovers??? Stop and think about it logically. Lets just say if you trust your Maxima with your life everyday, would you put a cheap mod like this on it??? Just my 2 Cents.

+1 Why everyone wants to buy the cheapest "mods" in existence is beyond me. If you want too improve your car doesn't it stand to reason that it will at least cost more than OEM equipment?

Because most .org members are frugal, and cheap.

I've heard people complain about Blehmco's BBK being $750. Tell me where else you can get OEM-spec part upgrades, or even an aftermarket BBK, for less than that.

A good, solid set of coilovers is actually cheaper than getting all OEM parts.

Always nice to hear your opinion Clashez.

I'm with you on this from a thought-process perspective, you should always consider the cost of OEM replacements when considering 'upgrades', it's a good way to put the price of the upgrades in perspective.

To the OP, I'm surprised you got much response at all, cause you blatantly lied about searching.
-Those are NOT 'coilovers'
-They're not even 'good' coil Sleeves, what does that tell you, when the 'good' sleeves cost more than these? (that's assuming there is such a thing as 'good' coilover sleeves)

And lastly, everything eveyone EXCEPT Clashez said: x10
