Takeda SRI

Takeda makes this SRI for the 09 maxima http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-2229648..._2132_71265960
It seems to me that this would fit our 5th gen cars very well and ebing able to get rid of the maf box will be clean looking too. Shouldnt that increase efficiency? and are the diameters different?

EDIT
Just want to add that it would look better than a berk intake although that is my only other real option.

I don't know if the MAF plug is the same...

Called advanced flow engineering, they make the takeda intakes, guys going to be sending their instructions which include pictures of the sensor. If it looks the same I might go for it because he said he would guarantee I could return it after trying it if it doesn't work. So does anyone know if the MAF sensors are the same dimensions?

To answer everyone's questions:

^ 2009 MAF

^ 2003 MAF

Completely different design. It'll take some modding (a lot) to make the 5th gen MAF fit.

MAF sensor fitment aside, it looks like there's a bit of a downward curve to the mid-pipe which may or may not be an issue. Either way, props for taking the plunge with something new.

Thats a serious bummer I just pulled mine and found that out as well I'm gonna look ask my welding friend how much it would take and if he would be up to welding in a new sensor hole.

It's do-able. All it takes is machining a block of aluminum (3 holes) to fit the MAF sensor. The hard part is welding aluminum properly. And making sure the MAF is aimed the right direction to receive proper airflow.

Just wondering maybe Mr. brett knows, Do the 2004+ MAF sensors send different electrical information to the ecu than the 02,03? That would be easiest I believe and ensure that I don't get screwed on the welding.

04+ MAF is different than the 02-03. The 04+ MAF is actually the 350Z unit.

I know that the MAF is a different unit but im asking about the signals it sends to the computer. Could I buy the takeda intake plug in the 04+ maf and call it a day?
