Quick Question

Hey guys so I own a 4th gen dads got a 5th. My dad isnt too much into modding and all that, I dropped by parents house, he took his car to a shop they told him he needed to replace his air intake and AF housing. I have never heard this term before...... I tried searching some didnt come up with anything in regards to AF housing. any idea where this could be located?

my first thought was the plastic funnels that attach to the stock intake piping. Thanks for the help in advance.

That would probably be what everybody calls the "snorkel". But Ghost has the perfect pic of the air intake components.

great thanks for the replies. I took a look at it once I got here and its missing the connector that goes from the housing to another part connected at the front of the engine thats bolted down along with a another that goes deeper in the front driver wheel well. ill have to find those for him.

If the part your are describing bolts to the back left side of the air filters main box, you are looking for the MAF chamber and probably the MAF sensor ... that would be the only piece that is missing from my picture it is 3" round and about 5-6" long. I can't see any reason one would have to replace the main air box unless it was badly cracked which is not likely, normally one only needs to replace the drop in filter not the entire box.

If you look at my picture of the components you can see the the opening with the smaller bolt hole on the back left side, below is a picture of the part (MAF chamber) that bolts to those holes.
