its without a doubt your mass air flow sensor. $80 fixes this problem

i changed it up, got a new 1 paid $80 for it and its still there. its like the car has loss of power or getting choked and also jerks back and forth a bit. i don't know what else to do, i took it to a shop my friend connected his computer checked it out everything fine but the only code that i get is missing cat because i took it off.

How many miles do you have? Have you ever changed your spark plugs?

Have you tried re-flashing your ECU ? After you change your MAF, you should do that. Is that noise more like rattle sound ?

Exhaust leak? Your descriptions suck, we need more details about the car. Mods? Mileage? Any tune-ups done? A vid clip of the sound would help as well.

I cant get u a clip it only happens when I drive... As far as mods I have a injen cold air intake. i did change the ECU since the original one Fed up on me. changed the transmission about a month ago with a new clutch and fidenza flywheel. that's all i can think off.

You have to provide a good basis and highly descriptive so people aren't shooting in the dark.
Personally sounds like maf. Is do the idle relearn. After id thoroughly check
The maf wiring and actual maf thermistor

If it's bucking and loss of power, it could be a failing fuel pump. I don't think it's a ignition issue since you have no CEL?

sorry guys i completly forgot i posted a thread for my friend who had the same problem in his 4th gen Maxima >> http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...ut-im-dee.html << now i have the same problem with my Maxima (except the heating up part), i changed the fuel pump, and the maf and this problem is still here. i'll loose power at 2500+ rpms. There's no warning when it's gonna happen....I'll just be driving and all of a sudden it just burbles and won't go.

OP: worst description of the problem ever. So it sounds like the problem doesn't happen all the time. Does it seem to happen more then the motor is hot?

Couple things to check: crank position sensor (since you just did a flywheel and clutch), ground, coil-packs.

@ maximase86 possibly when its hot but im not sure, like this morning i got in warmed it up and drove to work. i was ripping it all the way to work trying to see if the problem was still there, for a change there was no sign of the issue. plus i had this problem prior to transmission change fly wheel and clutch.

@Rods03Max619 i did go to see my mechanic on sunday he tested it with him comp and everything was fine.

@VQP0WER changed up MAF and Fuel pump
