2k1 stock stereo preouts?

2k1 stock stereo preouts?

does anyone know if the stock stereo on a 2k1 max has preouts on the rear of the stereo? i want to upgrade my speakers and add an amplifier.(would like to use the preouts to add the amp)

no it doesnt you would have to use speaker level imputs on the amp

has anyone used the speaker level inputs with the stock stereo? how does it sound?? i really don't want to swap out the head unit. i just want better speakers. let me know.thanks

im using the speaker level imputs and it sounds fine till my amp over heats i guess cuz it shuts off, have to take the amp off the back of the seat, im upgradeing my head unit to a kenwood 5010 and im gonna use rca's so ill let you know the diff.

So if we were to add an extra sub we need another amp as well. If that is the case does the new amp have to take the feed from the bose speaker out? I no very little bout car audio stuff...

what i did was i hacked out the bose amp and used those wires as the speaker in's to the new amp then i also hacked out the bose sub and amp and put in a new 8 inch free air sub and wired that off the new amp

That makes sense just that I don't know how to hack an amp. Is that the easiest way to add an amp and passive sub to the stock Bose system?

what i ment by hack out is take out the bose amp chuck it in the trash and put in a new amp same with the sub cuz it wont work with the new amp
