ever replaced an axle or worked on bearings or spindle.... step inside.

whats going on guys, by any chance can someone verify if the 5th gens came with the washer behind the axle nut from factory? ever since ive had my car ive been told by a coiuple guys about the washer not being there and i have not been able to find another factory 5th gen to compare it to, can any of you guys who have done any axle work verify this? ive also checked the fsm and havent been able to find a diagram that i can see it in.

Don't know if it came from the factory but mine doesn't have one on either side axles.

i just replaced my axle boot a few months ago and didnt notice on my right side.

i also replaced the left side wheel bearing in april and didnt notice a washer

..and the FSM doesn't indicate a washer as part of the assembly.

I've never seen a 5th gen with a washer myself. But every 4th gen I've worked on that I can remember did have a washer. Another random observation is that I find most 5th gens to have a 32mm axle nut. While 4th gens have a 36mm.
