You would make your ECU go nuts with an aftermarket TB

with enough drive, money, and planning u can make it happen accompanied with some other modification and tuning of course.

Interesting, the description says the Nissan TPS could work with this.
Call me negative, but that sounds like it might not work with this.

Plus it looks like that is a cable-operated throttle body, while ours are electronic (drive by wire) I believe.

Looks like welding is involved also.

Is yours the 3.0 or 3.5 engine?

Rochester, are the Maxima 3.0's cable or electronic? I know the 4th gen 3.0's that my kids drive are strictly cable operated, but they are 96 and 97 model years cars.

5.0 = cable, 5.5 = electronic.

I never owned a 5.0 gen, but I'm pretty sure the electronic throttle was a marketing point when I bought my car new.

All they want is your money........as mentioned there are red flags all over this company's website about having to adapt this TB, then being ambiguous as hell by stating it's a direct replacement........which it is NOT. I see no ports/galleries/passages for the IACV, for example. Forget this.

A speed shop on the 350z forums has proven that a 90MM intake/TB/elbow can be very beneficial to power (30+whp gains over stock) on their NA build project. Also, most of the gains were made above 5500 RPMs.

However, what would be needed to do it is expensive, and the supporting mods to take advantage of it would be even moreso.

To do it:
-Standalone engine management that can use said TB effectively, best option would probably be a LS2 90MM. There are many capable standalone options, none are for the faint of heart or shallow of pocket.
-02-03 ported SSIM with a custom made 90MM elbow that bolts straight to the IM and the new TB. This is certainly the cheapest option.
-LRMAF (or no maf, if you want to tune using a different method with standalone) + 3.5" piping and 3.5" velocity stack.

Supporting mods that would make it worth doing:
-Serious camshafts and other mods to support high revs (rod bolts, valvetrain, oil pump) and take advantage of all the extra breathing.
-Headers and 3" exhaust. SG motorsports has proven with the 350z that going from cattman-style midlength headers to long tubes is a 10-20whp gain. If you're going through the IM stuff, may as well have headers custom made as well.
-At this point, you'll also want to do some serious headwork or use cosworth heads.

Just bolting on a bigger TB will not work well with the stock ECU or cause much (if any) of a power increase. Large changes like this need a slew of supporting mods to truly benefit.
