I had to remove an axle, and the ABS sensor was completely frozen in place.
After removing the bolt, the sensor itself cracked in half. (Front L side)

My question is - are the L and R side ones the same? Also what years are interchangeable?

Can I fit a 2002 on my 2000 maxima?

I'm pretty sure the parts for L and R are different but only in the direction the flange is pressed onto the sensor. I have no idea if an 02 would fit an 00. I wouldn't mess with it and would just buy a new one. I just replaced one of mine and ordered it from partstrain, great pricing.

i hate that! why does Nissan make an abs sensor that is so tight in the knuckle???

i dont think that left and right are the same since they have different harness lengths.

Left and right are different. The angle that the wire comes and goes up is opposite. Use the wrong side and its banging up against the dust shield. Don't think 02 and 00 are interchangable. I also learned the hard way, but a member was nice enough to sell me both sides. Next time loosen the connection, and puu it thru the fender, leaving the sensor on the hub. FYI, new sensor from nissan @ $150
