Radiator Installation Question
Radiator Installation Question
2000 Maxima needs a new radiator. Installation looks straight forward. Drain the radiator, catch all the fluid, disconnect the hoses, etc. For an AT will there be AT fluid coming out also when those lines are disconnected? Thanks.
It's a pretty straight-forward job.
-You have to disconnect a couple of wiring connectors to remove the twin fans/shroud
-Drain fluid out with radiator drain
-while it is draining, disconnect upper and lower radiator hoses. Good time to replace them if they are still original
-Remove the two nuts that hold down the upper radiator brackets
-If you still have the factory air intake snorkel, use a small flat screwdriver to pry out the two push-clips and remove the intake
-YES, with A/T you will have to remove two hose clamps that hold the AT fluid hoses in place on the plastic flanges of the radiator.
-At this point, the radiator should just lift out of the way, but double check the area where the AT hoses were, seems like there was another hose clip there that has to be un-hooked.

Thanks, Trooplewis. Are the AT hose connections just a simple hose clamp or is it a complicated fitting? I can't see the connection since it's hidden by the fan assembly. I've replaced the fan housing before so I can at least get that far. My only concern was the AT hose connections now.
If I remember correctly, they are just a simple spring clamp.
Have something handy you can jam in the end of hoses to prevent leakage while you are doing the other stuff. A couple of bolts work ok, but I don't remember the size I used.
